7 — The West Reads Chen Ke

Supplementary: Prequel & The Maoshan Demon Slayer Chronicles · Chapter 7

On a certain occult forum in the twenty-first century of the Red Dawn timeline, someone posted the following thread: "Art Is Born of Life but Transcends Life — What Kind of Life Did Chen Ke, the Man Who Made a Film of Pure Darkness, Actually Live?"

Setting aside for the moment the American backdrop that The Maoshan Demon Slayer Chronicles allegorizes, today we are discussing the various evil ideas in the film and the evil lurking within humanity's dark side.

What kind of person harbors so many wicked ideas in his heart? And these ideas are rendered so vividly! The dark world Chen Ke depicts in the film is so immersive it practically puts you there. I cannot help but wonder: a man who won four Nobel Prizes in his lifetime; a man who invented countless technologies capable of annihilating humanity; a man who slaughtered innumerable gentry and destroyed China's traditional culture — why does his heart contain so much darkness? And that darkness is so meticulously detailed! How did he find the time to dream all this up while simultaneously running a dictatorship over China and devoting himself to researching the destruction of the human race? How can a single person learn and master so many things in the span of a few short decades?

Perhaps he did not dream it up at all. Perhaps these were his own personal experiences. Chen Ke claims to have severed ties with his family. Perhaps, like Washington in the film, Chen Ke took a magic axe and killed his own father — and went even further than Washington by seizing for himself the Philosopher's Stone his father had forged. (As everyone knows, the Taiping Rebellion during the Qing Dynasty resulted in the deaths of 200 million Chinese. Just imagine the power contained in 200 million lives.) Perhaps it was precisely through this that Chen Ke obtained his impossibly long lifespan. In the early years of that long life, he traveled throughout the nations of the West, studying Western culture, and — relying on his identity as a member of the Qing imperial family — mastered every conceivable method of ruling and enslaving a people.

And so, in 1910, the greatest demon in the history of mankind — a being who had acquired unprecedented dark and evil knowledge and sorcery — appeared on Chinese soil. This would explain everything: why Chen Ke possesses such vast learning, why he is so expert at ruling and enslaving people. It is precisely because he is such an evil being that he developed so many technologies for the destruction of humanity. As for the famous biography The Life of XXX, that is merely a trivial application of his evil magic.

Thus, to Chen Ke's existing titles — Scientific Tyrant, Greatest Demon of Twenty-First-Century Humanity, Dictator — were added new ones: Undead Zombie, and Evil Alchemist.

[...the above omits ten thousand words of further Chen Ke slander...] In summary, Chen Ke is the greatest demon of twenty-first-century humanity, a devil walking upon the earth. The thing in the crystal coffin is merely one of his avatars. Beware — a demon like this is hiding among us even now!!!!!
